The Red Admiral (Vanessa atalanta)

Wingspan approx. 6 cm. The front pair of black wings appears red, slanted sash, red at the rear edge strip. The underside of the wings is brown-yellow pattern, which allows the butterfly to good masking. Red Admiral observed from April to November if it is still sunny; 2 seems to generation. Avoid open spaces. It prefers. gardens, orchards, forest edges and parks. This species belongs to migratory butterflies, which were in Central Europe as a result of migration from the south east. The new generation of the most frequently wanders south of the Mediterranean, making flights at an altitude of 2000 m.
